This is deeply mysterious and wistful. I only voted for the book because i am so rubbish at keeping up with serial fiction here x

I voted for the book because I think it would be an easier format in which to develop context--a conventional concept but one I need.

I would feel the same. I can’t read serialized novel here on the stack myself. But I like the idea sometimes…

The chapters have to be written to be serialized, I think, like 19th century novels that were serialized in newspapers. To get the flow you seem to always have would be hard with those hard stops.

This is the problem for me— these hard stops break emotional engagement and mood.

You want to get it out there, but be patient with it. Send out shorter pieces that are naturally short during the novel's gestation.

Your writing style is captivating. I wonder why her tongue is feeling so thick, why she’s so tired, or is she strung out?

It’s interesting and I wanted more. I don’t think you’re asking for much, but rather giving a gift of your art. Yes, I like the gift.

If people don’t have time for it then it’s probably a sign of the times more than anything. I feel so stressed out by the current events. Crazy making stuff, whole world being gaslit by a ringmaster. (S)

Another reason why people like to get a piece of fiction, or maybe not fiction, in the mix.

I absolutely get it. Personally, I believe in the power of fiction to help us metabolize our larger situations, but that’s just me… (is the main character herself being gaslit by a ringmaster perhaps?????). Thanks for taking the time Mr./Ms. Truth!

This chapter reminded me a bit of Kafka's Metamorphosis: A character trapped inside his own room, his own body and his own mind. Maybe he was a competent dancer once, before he woke up unable to move.

You are on to something here, Laid.

Thank you, David. I hope Rhonda comes back with the sweater, but I have a bad feeling about it…
