This photo essay is a remarkable piece that perfectly captures the energy and creativity you’ve poured into SUM FLUX. Your vibrant voice, visionary artwork, and heartfelt writing make this project shine.
It’s no small feat to balance all the moving parts of a zine, and you’ve done so with such grace. You’re a true inspiration to me. Reflecting on my own year, I think of my daughter, my running routes along the Red River in Hanoi with music in my ears, my wonderful private students heading off to world-class schools (pictured with the family at the lake before their flights to Chicago or Indiana), my mom’s first visit to Hanoi in May, and finally finishing The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann—one of those books I carried for years, waiting for the perfect moment to read. And then, of course: Sandolore Sykes!!
Your work adds a vibrant exclamation point to my year. (P.S. The first pic from “The Never-Ending Drawing Project” is my favorite!)

Many of your other photos illustrate the driving force of our planet and politics" random absurdity with a dash of malevolence mixed with some calming vanilla powder( very little).
The "glorious chaos" is all wonderful. I started picking favorites but there are just too many. Maybe some day, when you have time (hah!) you could write about your drawing project. I
How do you get those poses for the floating pics? I enjoy not being able to tell. I'd like to think you have suspended yourselves from theatre wire in a green room. I am happy that you are just getting started with all of this. Looking forward to more of this Sandolore, Happy New Year.
I’m addicted to the SUM FLUX zine, including all the mouth-watering art you’ve created for it. Photography is another of my creative urges - I have a lot of B&W urban images to my name!
Congratulations on what you’ve created so far - here’s to an equally vibrant and exciting 2025!
your best picture is the side by side of " deport immigrants( illegal) " and the one advertising " Jesus" .if that doesn't depict the schizophrenia of American voters .........

It’s actually so easy. I take two photos from a static camera. Then raise myself in the second using photoshop. Simple!

That sign made me crazy. But it did provoke a lot of really great jokes in the family.
